Here's the scenario I believe Denis was concerned about: #+begin_quote ... block with citation at end. [cite:@doe] #+end_quote I think in standard author-year styles, we'd want: ... block with citation at end. (Doe, 2020) ... while in note-based and "US" (space removed): ... block with citation at end.[1] Not sure if that has any practical import, but just to clarify. Bruce
